Dutch Baroque Art Books
By STAN PARCHIN and ARTHUR P. KIRMSS
January 21, 2011

Johannes Vermeer (Dutch, 1632-1675). Girl with a Pearl Earring (ca. 1661-66). Oil on canvas. 44.5 x 39 cm (17.5 x 15.4 in.). Royal Cabinet of Paintings Mauritshuis, The Hague.

Dutch Baroque painting, printmaking and decorative arts during Holland's Golden Age are the subject of this bibliography. Some of its titles are classic studies. Many of them are special exhibition catalogues written by curators and scholars who specialize in 17th-century Netherlandish art, history and civilization. Most of the publications can be obtained in bookstores and through Internet retailers.
