Free pre-registration for dated and timed tickets for
Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs at New York's
Discovery Times Square Exposition facility began on September 16, 2009 at
www.kingtutnyc.com. The exhibition's appearance in Manhattan from April 23, 2010 to January 2, 2011 is reportedly its last one in the United States before the more than 130 antiquities return to Cairo, Egypt.
Anyone who chooses to sign up for tickets before the end of this year will be able to purchase them before they go on sale publicly in March 2010.
More than 50 of the exhibition's objects come from the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun (r. 1332-1322 B.C.). The others were excavated from the burials of his ancestors. Together they describe the culture, religion and often tumultuous history of Egypt's later 18th Dynasty.
